Payslip Custom Page Size for Printer Panasonic KX-P1121

Fig 1: Panasonic Dot Matrix KX-P1121 ribbon ink
Assalamualaikom w.b.t and greetings,

Today i got a task to solve the pay slip printer problem. Our SKALI HQ called me to reconfigure this dot matrix Panasonic KX-P1121 printer. Its old time printer but useful to print pay slip.

The problem is they can't find suitable print size to optimize the payslip paper size. They want the printer can auto print whole employee salary statement without they need to adjust the width and height of next page of payslip roll.

Then i ask anyone that can successfully print using Panasonic KX-P1121 with correct paper size settings. One of our HR said Mrs Nadia printer working well every time. So, i went to her workstation and looking the configs. Yess got it!

Ok then i went to HQ printer and apply this configurations step by step:

Fig 2: Add Custom Forms Size for Printers

1. Go to Control Panel and then Printers and Faxes.

2. Select the printer (Panasonic KX-P1121) to highlight it.

3. For Win Xp you can go to File -> Server Properties. For Win Vista, Win 7 just click Server Properties.

4. Then tick "Create New A Form" and set the name like "Pay Slip Size" and fill below measurements:

Units: English
Width: 8.50in
Height: 5.50in
Left=Right=Top=Bottom: 0.00in

5. Lastly click OK.

6. When printing, select the custom paper name you just created.

Important Notice: This configure must be done on the server connected directly to that Panasonic KX-P1121 printer. If this new form done it will accessible and useable to other network workstation. I suggest any network workstation that remote the printer to restart or remove and add the printer again.

  1. Hi,it works and thank you so much.

    How if I wish to print payslip through Chrome default print? I already set 8.5x5.5 as default,and the preview looks perfect as well,however the height of each printed payslip is not matched the paper size,each payslip take more height,hence the second payslip will move down for about 1-2cm,and effect the following payslips.

    Thank you.

  2. Hi,

    Welcome. Glad to hear its working for you.

    For Chrome built in preview is always not advised to use as precious printing. But you can try to measure different height size came out using Chrome compare to native printer dialog.

    Here how to measure what size Chrome output to your printer. Measure height size between first printed line between payslip 1 to payslip 2 and so on.

    --------------seperate line-----
    ++>first line printed

    Lets say using Chrome the height size in in 6 inch. Its mean there are offset 1 inch between Chrome and your default printer.

    Try to create a new printer form with name "Chrome Payslip" and set it as 4.5inch (5.5 - 1) as height.

  3. If you don’t use your printer very frequently, you may buy a toner with lesser page yield, yet an efficient page yield is assured. All this is possible with Brother.
